How do I get my gauges and hoses in these housings?

Is there a trick to this or are the housing hose sections too narrow?

I cannot get the damn hose in

Assuming that it will actually fit....
Soak the gauge housing in hot hot water for a bit to soften up the rubber. You will be surprised at how much easier it all gets.

Should probably measure the diameter of the hose and compare to the diameter of the smaller opening. As long as there is room for the hose, the hot water trick should allow you to squeeze the fitting through.

Take a few beers to your local shop and have them use this tool: Hose Protector Installation Tool
