46m was my deepest. There was a crashed plane in what was supposedly 40m of water, but a storm had moved it off a ledge. Hence why I was at 46m.

I'm still at 70 meters (230 ft), but this record is bound to be broken by the end of this year.

evil_xander:
80% of my dives is from 25-35 meters.
Yep, same here.
I plan to stay OWD untill somebody really insists I show the AOWD card to pay up for more of the same thing. I already did 'deep dive(s)', night dive, into the blue, shore dive, boat dive, you name the 'speciality' that can be charged additionaly. :)
Wreck dive? ;)

Hey, Mr. Evil, I finally dived the Baron Gautsch - "Titanic of the Adriatic" - this weekend! Poor viz (3m), some current, cold water (11ºC) but it was still niiiiice. :D

OK i should have phrased it better. Training dives have a purpose as do practice dives and build up dives where depth maybe essential for the drills or skill practice required.

"just for the sake of it" i was thinking of someone with no goal or any particular point just going down to say 170ft to see nothing at all when they could do the same in 80ft.
Every dive is a training or practice dive for me. As long as you are prepared for it, I don't see anything wrong with going to any depth.

Wreck dive je isto odradjen. :)

Nece on nikamo...

I know it's dumb but the deepest I've been in the last 6 months is 12 ft. That really stinks ..... should have gone to Grand Cayman in June and got some real bottom time but deceided to stay home due to high airfares. Still plan to do Cozmel in January 2009 where I can get back in the sport of diving a little deeper than the bottom of the pool.

My certification is to 150 feet through PSAI Advanced Nitrox and Deep Diving training. On a recent trip (01-Jul-08) to the North Atlantic off the coast of New Jersey on the Independence II, we went out on the Ayuruoca. Since it was my first time on the wreck, I made a thorough dive plan. I planned for 140 feet for 18 minutes with contingency depths at 150 and 160 feet and contingency time at 25 and 30 minutes. When I descended the anchor line to 140 feet, there was only 8 foot of viz on the wreck, so I descended to 150 to be able to cruise around the wreck, with 152 being the lowest depth recorded by my Nitek Duo. I started my ascent 18 minutes into the dive, performed my deco, and experienced no problems on the dive. I used air for travel and bottom gas, and EAN60 above 60 feet for decompression and safety stops. That was my deepest dive to date.

I routinely go to 140. though it is never routine, I am always prepared 120 on my back an 30 on my side redundant everything. Why would be great spearfishing off jupiter ledge.

The best and longest dives are 40 ft to 50 ft.. That is where all of the kool stuff hangs out. I did have a desire to swim through the hanger deck of the Oriskany once. Did it and once is more than enough.

139' to touch the flight deck of the Oriskany.
