Can I shorten my diverite cord? How do I do it?

http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/4188171-post9.html

Hey Zimm,

Shortening a light cord isn't a do-it-yourself project. First off, it voids the warranty on a new light. However, it appears that you have an older light, so warranty shouldn't be an issue. Getting the correct sealing of the glands has to be done in factory, plus we'll pressure test the light after shortening the cord.

An authorized dealer in HI may be able to take care of it for you or feel free to send your light to us in Florida. Give Jess an email at service@diverite.com if you decide to do so.

Having said that, the cord is going to be long on you as it is with every diver. Some solutions are (1) wrap it around your left arm once or twice (2) clip the cord inside a chest strap or loop into the waist belt (3) run the cord under a shoulder strap.

I wrap mine around the arm and it stays put nicely. My husband runs his under his counter lungs when he's diving CCR. Just some options to consider that may be easier than getting a custom cord.

Hope this is helpful,
Kathleen
