Shows how popular they may be where you're looking

Are they good friends, better still do they know anything and do you understand the RIX

s-l1600 (4).webp

Or not!

They are not sold by RIX any longer. And as far as I know, not sold to the general public, but only as made to order, by contract. Maybe @iain/hsm can provide more illumination when he is around here next.

Maybe they are hiding from you. But Amazon or Ebay is not the best place to find your friends.

Or maybe a sort of murky, twilightt glow - possibly from the fires of Mt. Doom.

🤣

Or maybe .........may be. But we are not going to talk about that subject on a public forum.

From a general overview what fellow divers should be aware of is for those folk thinking of buying ex military compressor from the likes of these Ebay adverts they will not be supplied spare parts or service components for the compressor and in turn neither will their customer or end user.

Any enquiry for spare parts now requires the serial number of the block together with a tie in sales history with the person or company against that serial number. Also if you bypass and use a genuine serial number but you're not the original customer and its a military pump too bad.

However If you have bought an original commercial scuba version SA6-B or have a known history then no problem spares are readily available even in the UK and Europe. But not for Russia, Iran N Korea etc etc apparently.

I guess the legal liability risks are too great supporting clowns off Ebay with parts selling junk scrap pumps onto the unsuspecting scuba diver. In a word buying second hand off Ebay and the like is now not an option I guess. So no you won't see them on E-Bay or Amazon.

But they are still available brand new for the likes of authentic air sampling and for scientific purposes
for example measuring atmospheric air for contaminants and chemical compounds in the everyday air we breathe down into the parts per million and PPB range far above the requirement for any scuba diving application and without any additional chemical filtration.
