Hi my neighbor has a brand new SeaQuest Pro XD or LD?( I forget) BC he is trying to sell. I am interested in it but dont know much about SeaQuest. Do they make quality products? Anybody have any advice they can share? Thanks -Jeff

I have tried this BC and I find it very bulky for my personal taste. As far as I know Seaquest makes a quality product. I own a Seaquest ballance, but I havn't had it long enough to tell you if it will last. I've done about 50 dives on it and it looks brand new. Get your friend to let you try out the BC. If you like it, and he'll give you a good price, go for it.

It's probably a Seaquest Pro QD....great BC with huge pockets. Jeffalcone is right, it IS bulky, but if that doesn't bother you, it fits well, and you can get a good price, go for it!

I've been diving with SeaQuest BCD's ever since I gave up my old Air Force surplus oragne horse collar over 30 years ago. I currently own 3 functional SeaQuest BCD's, one of which that I purchased back in the 80's (the original model "ADVI").

They are excellent quality BCD's and well worth the investment. I am currently diving with the model called the "Predator" (Circa 1999-2000) and may well move up to the "Balance" model in the not too distant future.

I have never owned or dove with the PRO model but I remember when it hit the market and have seen others diving with it. If the price is right I would get it looked at by a SeaQuest dealer from a reputable dive shop. I recently bought my wife a used SeaQuest "Diva" model on eBay. Got a great price and invested about $75 to have it checked out before she dove with it.

I have the ProQD myself and have no problems with it. It is jacket style, which some do do not like. For back floatation the SeaQuest Balance is a good one.

Both quality products. I have the alternate air on the inflator hose model.

As for the statement that the pockets are huge on the Pro QD -- I don't think so. The inflated bladders encroach on the pocket space. If I remember correctly, the Balance offers more pocket space.

I have a SeaQuest Diva I purchased in 1995 and I love it, and it is still wonderful I have almost 300 dives on it.

I guess you are referring to a SeaQuest ProQD. I owned one as my first BC before switching to a BP/W. Can't complain about its quality. But as others stated, it is a bit bulky. This is coz it comes with some really good padding, which also means they are very comfortable.
