With all the photographers we have on the board, this forum should be full of pictures! King Neptune gave us the ability to post images here so let's use it! I'll start....

It's rainy and dreary here today so here's a place I'd rather be...

...and is there a way to put a picture into a post that will cause it to load faster and maybe within the window so that it doesn't need to be scrolled to see all of it???

It might be your screen resolution I have mine set to 1024x768 and I do not have to scroll to see the entire picture. To make it load faster it can be compressed and cut down in size to help out but then it would not look as good. I have cable modem so it’s not a problem for me but for those that are still on dial up it can get slow.

I'm linking to my online gallery and the pic size is already set. If one of the computer tekkies want to tell me how to adjust the size in the URL I can do that. That might help for faster load times. I have a cable connection so I don't think about load times! :mean:

... I'm slow... how do I put the picture right into the post so it doesn't have to be down loaded? I wouldn't do that often but it might be handy once in a while.

First, your pic has to be on the web somewhere, such as hosted on a photo site like mine is. Get the URL to that particulat pic. Usually by right clicking on it and going to the properties. The proper URL will be there. Copy it.

When you're ready to post it, choose the IMG button just under the smilies. In the window that pops up, paste the URL to your photo and hit OK. Voila! Your pic will appear in your post.

Now...if you don't have your pics hosted on another site you'll have to uplaod it from your computers hard drive into ScubaBoard and it will show as an attachment. (KN has set some size restrictions for that. I seldom use it because I'd have to resize my photos first and keep them...that's too much of a hassle for me when I have them online anyway.)

to do an attachment....Just underneath this posting screen, you'll see 'Attach file:' Hit the browse button and find your pic on your hard drive. If it doesn't need to be resized, it will upload and appear in your message as one of those paper clip things.

I hear ya Dee! People should post more pictures! It's a vicarious experience for all of us when we get to see other people's dives.

If I wasn't at work right now I would post a few myself. I dove in a crater full of 96F water near Park City, UT a couple of weeks ago and got a few interesting shots. I'll put them up on the board in the next few days.

Bring on the pictures!

Take me with you - PLEASE!

Reach out and touch the trees!

Great pic!
