Housing Fogged After Battery Change

Hello all,

If you ever replaced your battery between two dives, you might share my frustrating experience of fogged housing. It seems virtually impossible not to get some drops of water in when opening and closing the housing (I am using PT059 for my TG6). If you have a way to deal with this, please share

Take it you’re already familiar with the moisture muncher packs. You can bring a fresh one in a sealed ziplock with you.

Hi all,

My Olympus PT-059 housing recently started fogging. I know about the usual solution, temperature, insert desiccant pack, etc.

I am wondering, since the housing wasn't prone to fogging in the early days, could it be something to do with degradation of the coating at the inner lens surface, some scratches even?

I like to know, if there is a solution involving coating that can be applied to the inner surface, to prevent this fogging?

We find that this has only ever happened a couple of times and of course both times when we have an awesome encounter lol. If only I had pictures to share as proof!

2nd the moisture munchrs. I sometimes had that issue in Suth California. Nice hot humid day but the water temp is at least 30 degrees lower. any moisture in the housing either finds its way to the electronics or the lens.
