Hi! My name is Sheryl Périer and I took dive lessons back in '97 or '98 at Austin Aquasports, from a gentleman who I believe was named Mark, though I am not sure. The shop was owned by Glenn McFarland, who would likely know who taught the class based on the description I will provide. My house has since burned down and I lost all record of my dive certification. I have spoken to Naui and they have no record of me. They told me to double check that my classes were not PADI, which I have done, and who also has no record of me. Naui also said that if I had the name of the instructor, they might be able to find record of me. I'm sure the instructor would remember me. He was especially proud of me because I overcame my claustrophobia and succeeded in passing the class. He was also kind enough to go down to the Comal to do the second check out dive for me because I had been given a suit that would have fit a starving Ethiopian and which caused me to get sick (the fish didn't mind ;-)) on the first day of the check out dive. I wasn't fully recuperated the next day for the scheduled second part.
He was extremely kind and I was and still am, appreciative. At that time, he was probably in his late thirties to mid forties, not very thin (though not obese), and he spoke like an engineer. ;-) Does that ring any bells? Does anyone know how to reach Glenn McFarland?
Thanks so much for any help you can provide.
