Two of my Dive Master friends from Arkansas werer their and could not get a flight out. They found someone to let them stay in a house so they could get out of the Motel. They it was really bad. Not a good day for scuba divers.

Pretty much sucked for the people who live on Cozumel and lost their homes and their livelihoods for a couple of months, too - the ones who can't fly away back to their cozy (unflooded, undamaged) homes and stocked fridges (that run on electricity that's supplied) and (working) phones and jobs (that are still there)......

I was one of the 12 americans ...and the dutch guys are exagerating a bit....the barracuda suffered a bunch of damage and their are structures on site that are gone...the restaurant, the dive shops and some of the beach side walls...but the barracuda is not gone and they are working to get it restored...and we did not hide out in bathrooms...i think we felt like it at times...but we stayed together...for more information contact me at scubafrnds@aol.com

I think pictures speak for themselves We had to change our reservations from Nov to Feb because American Airlines cancelled us but will be taking pictures when we go. I will post them when we get back. Pictures speak louder than words. Kathy

"Again, beware of false destruction reports" AMEN!!!!!!!
Yeah - it was bad you guys, and Barracuda did get a hard hit, but they are rebuilding!!!! Once again you cannot imagine the DAILY progress in rebuilding everywhere!!!! There are crews workin 24hours a day to get things back to normal!!! I said it before, and I will say it agin - I believe in my heart (based on my personal IN PERSON observations) - Cozumel will be the fastest hurricane recovery ever!!!!!!!
YEAH!!!! VIVA COZUMEL!!!!!!!!!!
