Hospital hole
Today a buddy and myself decided to go and see how the good old hospital hole is doing. Well the canoe ride up river told me a lot to what to expect once I was diving in the hole.
I have dived this hole maybe almost 100 times in the last two years and it saddens me on how this hole is changing. The river was not in good shape according to my own opinion from what I have seen in the last 2 years, the visibility was of a poor standard to past times going up this river.
The dive down to the sulphur cloud normally starts at about 70 ft well today it was about 40 ft and was green and nasty.
We proceeded with the dive and went into darkness at about 80 ft and to our dismay it was like diving into milk. We found the crab traps, and found that more have been dumped in the hole. Our hid lights did nothing for us down there unless you were 3 ft from the bottom and could scout out the way using the floor as a reference point. We tied a line like we normally like to do to keep up the skills and proceeded on. At 125 ft the milky water just got worse and so we decided to call it a day.
We came up slowly circling the walls and then came out of the dive to a 100 questions from boaters.
That was our hospital hole dive!
