I'm have an Apeks TX50 with first stage and an Apeks T20 with a separate first stage that I hope to dive on a Y valve 105 steel tank. (I'm a fan of redundancy) The standard Apeks hose is too short to use on the left side so I'm going to get a longer hose. I'm thinking about getting a 7 ft. hose so buddy breathing would be easier but I'm not sure I want to carry that much hose around and if I do how to set it up so I minimize the possibility of getting entangled. What's everyone think of the 7 ft. hose? I don't plan to get into caves or wrecks. Thanks for your thoughts.

If you're diving a backplate and wing configuration, the 7' is as easy as any other length, routed properly beneath your cannister light. If you're diving a recreational BC instead, and you're only doing open water diving, then get a 5' hose and run it beneath your right arm across your chest, around the back of your neck, etc.

Here's a bp/wing with a 5' hose:
