So I booked the horseback riding on July 3rd, anyone know exactly how to get there? It looks like I drive just past the airport and follow the dirt road to the donkey sanctuary and there should be a sign, just want to make sure I know what I am doing?

How long of a drive from Den Laman?

If anyone has done it, what did you wear? When riding my wife's horse we always have long pants and boots/tennis. Curious if it is the type of riding when I can get away with shorts and sandals (the less I have to pack the better)

we did the horse thing a few years ago. Great experience..I did it in shorts and sneakers. It takes about 4 hours and half way through you get to swim @ Lac Bay with them.Remember to give a tip to the guide.Takes maybe 10-15 minutes from Den Laman.

My daughter and GypsyJim's daughter did this several years ago.
Jim may know the details, I don't really remember - I do remember that the girls had a great time!

I think I might have seen pics (were you on a trip with Herman at the time?) and that is how I find out about it, the wife is a big horse person, so that is my little thanks for going diving with me (again)

scottyd, I am one of the "other" group heading to Bonaire this Saturday. Cooltech and I have batted around the idea of doing this as well; would be handy if you and spouse care to meet up and chat.
sure - Herman mentioned to me about the BBQ on one of the nights - good place to meet and chat -

That was DD and Jims daughters seveal years ago.

Scotty.. we did this last March.. we booked directly with Marion (who by the way only accepts cash). It was a lot of fun, but admittedly I did have a sore butt for several days following..Wear jeans (or shorts) & sneakers. Wear your bathing suit underneath as they stop at Cai for about 45 mins to let the horses cool down & you are able to take 'em for a swim. Also bring your camera!

There are several ways to get there, but yes you can follow the road south of the airport going to the donkey sanctuary. If memory serves me correctly it was about 10- mins past the donkey sanctuary following the dirt road.
Have fun!!!
