In order to accurately discuss and communicate with someone, it's usually necessary to have a common frame of educational reference with that person or persons, which is not necessarily the case here.
Yes, you are right.

I find this amusing. I know quite a few DIR divers, we have a large population up here. The ones I know that have the most GUE certification and credibility spout the least. Its interesting.

Uncle Pug:
Nothing looks cooler and has more smugness potential than slowly ascending the last 10' horizontal supine arms out to the side ( or alternately across the chest coffin style)... especially if you can really slow it down and make the last 3' take a full minute. :D

Agreed. I love doing that last bit face up, and just watch the silvery water surface just above me. It's also good buoyancy practice.

Soggy:
Once again, no one is disputing the benefits to being horizontal during ascent nor the theoretical decompression benefit, but it certainly isn't "the whole story" from you, the self-proclaimed expert in all things DIR.
I don't dispute the theoretical benefit, hell ... there's a theoretical benefit to just about any old thing. I do, however, have no knowledge of any publication in a reputable journal that suggests horizontal decompression is any better than vertical decompression.

I think so, but he cleaned it up here

But I didn't notice any changes to the nifty wing+suit argon system.

cdennyb sure has a strange way of taking others opinions and offering them up as his own, without attribution.

Blitz:
Wow..... dual hosed argon.. hadn't thought of that.
Double Yoke regs....yippeee

That's cause you're not a DIR genius like cdennyb. They teach you the advanced setup in Tech3 ;)
