Hooky Dive - June 15, 2011

Hi everyone,

Our next Hooky Dive will be on Wednesday, June 15 at Haigh Quarry. We will meet there around 9:30 or so and do 2 dives. According to Haigh's website, as of May 30, conditions are as follows :

Surface - 60*
20 ft - 60*
45 ft - 54*

Visibility is averaging 35-40 ft.

Haigh also has a new attraction. A step van at 45 ft located between the 2 dive platforms. I guess this replaced the cinder block Phil and I found tied to the new marker.

Me and my buddy that just got certified will be there. Pressing closer to 10ish. This is Brian from Rock Island, about 3 hours out.

Updated conditions at Haigh as of today, June 11:

Surface - 70*
20 ft - 68*
45 ft - 62*

Visibility is averaging 15-20 ft.

Should make for a nice dive Wed.

Due to the chance of severe weather in the Kankakee area, we thought it would be best to cancel tomorrow's dive and reschedule for next Wed June 22. Sorry for the late notice. Was hoping things would improve.
