I will be traveling to the western caribbean this July, ie. Roatan, Cozemel, Belize and Costa Maya and was wondering if I should bring a hood? if so which thickness 1.5mm or 3mm? Thanks.

I've been to Roatan, Coz, & Belize. I don't think you will need a hood but I wear one... a microprene 1mm because I hate the mask strap on my ears. It also keeps the water out of my ears. So for warmth, depending on how cold tolerant you are, you probably won't need one. I am one of a handful of divers that wears anything on my head at those places.
