Hi there,

its looking like I'm going to be in Honduras in around late august for my divemaster.
I know its pretty much in the middle of the hurricane season so I was wondering will anyone else be there?
i've been told it gets alot quieter than it is around now but I'm wondering is it worth going a little later in the year to hopefully aviod the worst of the weather?

Cheers,
Max

In Honduras, that would the Tropical Rainstorm Season.

Hurricanes usually tack North and West, the Southernmost landfall would be Belize.

Usually. Then there was Mitch. (10/98)

To every rule, there are exceptions. August is the coral spawn. I have been there many times in August, quite often still and light haze. Sometimes not.

I went to Roatan in Aug of 2003. Had great weather, didn't even rain much. The island was quiet as well.
