I know there's a recommended product (escapes my mind right now) for cleaning out the inside of BC's/wings but was wondering if anyone had any input on cleaning/sterilizing them with PBW or sanistar/iodostar? I'm more after the 'sterilization' of them rather than general cleaning as I always rinse inside after my saltwater dives.

Star San is acid-based if I recall, and iodophor is of course iodine-based. I would be reluctant to use something on my BC that hasn't been tested for that use. I see that Steramine has been diver-tested, at least by tbone. tbone, do you use the Steramine in the same concentration you would for beer bottles?

Steramine is what I was thinking about with regards to hearing it being used on BC's before. Would appreciate any advice on concentration needed.

if you're soaking it is 1 tablet per gallon, if you're spraying it is 2 tablets per gallon, concentrations recommended on the bottle. FWIW Steramine is actually a food service product that divers use because it is cheap
