A Hollis Solo hog harness and SS backplate is significantly more $$$ than a comparable Diverite hog harness setup. Is there really a difference that justifies the highter cost of Hollis, or would I be paying for the name?

You are paying name.

A Hollis Solo back plate and harness, halcyon back plate and harness and dive rite back plate and harness al almost identical, they are all made of steel and continuous nylon webbing. The only difference is brand and price and Dive rite has the better price. All my gear is dive rite.

best regards

I have both a a Hollis solo harness and a Dive Rite deluxe. The webbing and hardware are nearly identical.

Hollis comes with 2 extra chest/shoulder D-rings, a crotch strap and the shoulder pads. Is all that worth 65.00? that's up to you.

edit - sorry, didn't catch you were asking about the BP as well. I have the Hollis AL plate and it's nice but I don't know how it compares to a Dive Rite.
