Ok my dive buddy took her SMS 100 apart and found this.. any ideas whats going on.

It's old? I mean plastic degrades over time, cracks and fades. Get a backplate if you want a "forever" BC. Although wings still age and webbing needs replacing

Prob around 3 years old..
 
if the bladder holds air, it will work.
Plastic cracking is depends on material used, and storage condition (temperature and humidity)

sidemount or backmount, Im 99% confident it will work.
 
3 years seems quick for that amount of degradation.

Sun, extreme heat or cold may also influence degradation. For example, leaving the BCD in a very hot car in direct sunlight.
