As the title says, I'm trying to decide between the Hollis HTS 2 and the Apeks WTX. I'm just finishing up my DM course and along with some other new gear, I'm looking at upgrading my current generic BC to a harness system that will allow me to eventually get into doubles and some techy diving.

I have to say, I'm leaning toward the Hollis system (wanted one for a bit), however, I have a friend who owns a dive shop and can get me the Apeks at cost. Hence the dilemma. Obviously, if all else is similar and the price difference is way out of wack, I'll go with the Apeks, but I just want to see what others think.

From what I've researched these harness systems look quite comparable, so I turn to the faithful posters of SB. Looking for help with the quality, fit & finish, customer service, etc...

I'm not looking at any other harness systems (i.e. OMS, Halcyon, etc), just looking for information on these two.

Thanks

There is a guy that has an Apeks for sale on here. It was still available a few days ago. Size med.

Thx but a M is too small, and I would only buy new... What I'm looking for is a people who can speak to the comparison of each harness unit.

I feel both are excellent, but the Apeks WTX is top of the line and can be configured in any way you would use a backplate. The weight pouches on the Apeks have D rings attached and I use them constantly. I have no real complaint with the Hollis other than it was a large and my Apeks is a medium which fits me better. I will say I got rid of the Apeks wing for a dive rite. I felt it was too big and stuck out on both sides.
