As a general question for my own knowledge, would it not be prudent to also have AN/DP on a dive like the Oriskany, or is there a recreational version of the Oriskany dive that stays within NDLs?

If you stay near the tower island you can have a nice dive within NDL and still see so much that you'll never see it all. Island is at 80' no deco required - and even if you do deco most shops ask you to limit your dive time + deco to 145mins. Most dives on the mighty O stay within NDL by staying near the island. Next attraction is at 145' - flight deck which requires deco to get anything out of it.

Mighty O has areas of all skill level.

That will be one of my "must dives" once I get my AN/DP because I would never be happy just checking out the island and from my understanding it is hard to actually get the dive in due to conditions. (weather, currents and so forth)

The weather has to be in your favor that's for sure - or else things go south pretty quickly when you are 20 miles out at sea.

i would recommend talking to steve lewis about doing AN/ART for the oriskany. You want that helium in there for narcosis management at those depths...
