I'm continuing my ongoing quest to find a decent pair of fins, that fit.

I've got a pair of XL Jets that fit wetsuit boots fine, and a pair of XXLs that are just a bit too large for my drysuit boots. Ideally, I'd just like a single pair of fins.

I've recently tried a pair of Turtles, they fit fine but I found them a bit soft in comparison with the Jets.

I've also tried a pair of OMS Slipstreams, but first impression was that they were way too stiff - after an hour in the pool, my calves were screaming and I was getting foot cramps. I'm sure I'd toughen up eventually and get used to it, but...

A couple of people have suggested the Hollis F1. Anyone used these? Any general comments?

Unfortunately, we don't have a Hollis importer so it will be an online purchase. I just hate buying things online that I don't know if I'm defintiely going to like.

I am wearing a size 9 Whites EVO3 which is falling in between the XL and XXL Jets and the regular F1 fits perfect. It has a tall foot pocket that allows it to work with either a wet or dry-suit boot. As far as performance, no complaints there either. Can do all of the kicks with them and they are extremely comfortable.

The Aqualung Rocket II fins fit well between the Jet fin XL - XXL. Make sure it is the Rocket II it has a hole to hang the fins.

I've not used the F1, but Andrew Ainslie had (and used) a pair on the boat last Saturday, and they look cool as all hell... like Hollis was taking design queues from the B2 team at Northrop Grumman.

On the surface, they felt relatively stiff (probably somewhere between Jets and Rockets), and while I edit: didn't pay close attention to the size of the foot pocket, they didn't strike me as being larger than my living room (as in the XXL Jets or Turtles).

Try contacting Andrew at the decostop.

I sold my Scubapro Jet Fins to get the OMS Slipstream fins. I really like how much lighter the Slipstreams are.

I recently looked at the Hollis fins and they are nice, but they are also double the price of the scuba pro and OMS fins

I've also got Whites Evo3 rock boots, size 13 and for wet boots I wear a size 11 Henderson instadry. Had XL twinjets that wouldn't work with the Evo3's. The F1's are great with both. Nice and snug with the Evo3's and while there is bit of room in the toe with the wet boots it's not terribly sloppy. I've used them in heavy current and for more precise movements in Cenotes and have been extremely happy with them. More so than my twin jets which I really liked. Never used turtles or jets though. Got a great deal at scuba toys.

Forgot to mention the F1's are over 1 lb lighter than the twin jets (also w/ spring straps) and neutral in salt, slightly negative in fresh.

My shop just picked up Hollis and I have tried the Hollis fins compaired to my classic Jet's. The Hollis work great with the GUE Kicks and I feel I can get more water feedback with them. I liked them so much afer 6 dives I ordered my own pair. They seem like a great value becouse they come with spring straps. The rubber is much softer and forms around your foot better. I have dove them with wet suit boots and with my TLS 350 with turbo soles with greatly improved comfort. The staps are also adjustable so you dont have to guess on what size springs to order All wonderfull so far.
