I have been invited to a wedding at Brisas Guardalavaca, Resort in late Nov. Anyone been there or been diving in the area? What's it like, any idea of water temp. that time of year??

I stayed at the Melia Rio D'oro a couple of years ago which is very close to the Brisas. We went in March and the water was around 26C if I remember correctly - sorry log book not to hand at the moment.

Not to put you off but I have to say that Cuba was not my favourite destination. We went as a group for a wedding too, and their were 8 divers amongst us. We stayed a week at Guardalavaca, and then a week across at Santiago da Cuba and the diving in both places was very similar. The reefs were deepish - around 15-17m down. lots of coral at that depth but very few fish as they are the islands main diet. We were pretty good on air, so if you wanted a decent length dive you were doing a bit of deco because there was just nothing above the 17m mark.

But what the heck, there are worst places like some of the quarries I dive in the winter in the UK - and you are really there for the wedding aren't you???
