Holbox whale sharks

We were on 7/31. The vis was awful, this is about the best we could do (using a little POS P&S):

All of the pics I've posted here were taken on 7/28, which was the best day out of 5 that we had. The viz is definitely hit or miss. -Clay

We just got back from a Whale Shark Tour through Holbox. There is a cute girl from the University of Vicotira doing her thesis on the Whale Shark Tour industry and its impact on the sharks. We filled out a 45 question questionnaire. We saw about 10 sharks and had a great time snorkeling with them. Although vis was bad due to the microorganisms in the water, we were able to tak a few photos. If you go to ECOCEAN Whale Shark Photo-identification Library you can upload your photos and track your shark around the world. It helps scientists determine their swimming patters because so little is known about them.
