I just don't log dives
I just drop a bunch of coins for a shinny MK25/A700. Prior to that I was diving with a MK25/S600.

The subjective reviews on scubaboard here regarding the HOG D1 is overwhelming. Can someone kindly link me to an independent "unbias" in the lab type review. I want "objective" hard numbers as to how HOG D1 compare to SP MK25/A700 in term of "performance" at depth. Mainly at depth of 120' to 180'. A bonus would be where the HOG max out. Wonder if HOG can break SP record of 306fsw @ 75RMV.

A repeat of this review with HOG "included" would be exactly what I want to see.

Ahhhh,

You've just touched on the dirty little secret of trade and 'enthusiast' publications.

In reality, there is not the separation they would like to claim between the editorial and advertising sides. At the end of the day, they need to make payroll and keep the investors happy. They only way to do this is through selling pages of advertising. Subscriptions just don't do it.

You dump major $$$ (like some of the 'high-end' vendors), surprise, surprise you get your latest offering talked about in breathless terms.

Certainly if a particular piece of gear performs like dog doo-doo, it will get reported. The reality is most gear is really quite equivalent.

Enjoy your equipment. You paid for the privilege.

I looked for one also - didn't find anything with actual test results. Probably more subjective than you want: Precision Diving

If you already bought it, why do you care? If you really want, or wanted, to give HOG a shot at being your choice you needed to dive one yourself. How YOU like it is the only important deciding factor as either of them will perform well.

If you can afford the " Best ", why not get it.

The MK25/A700 will take care of you for decades.

The only way that you could have gone " Bigger " is the MK25T/ S600T Titanium!

seem like some of you "only read" what you want to read. shame on you.

here it is again. "performance" at depth. mainly at depth of 120' to 180'.

at 33' - even the cheapest of regulator will work fine. at 165' and spearing/wrestling a big fish and huffing n puffing (my typical profile). the sheep of regulator gets separated from the goats of regulator.

some of my buddies (who is starting to dive the same profile) simply do not have the luxury/coin to drop for a "benchmark" MK25/A700. perhap they can get a HOG instead (if HOG is up to the task)? perhap a HOG is a poor man's Scubapro. Plus - when we do dive these depths, I could have a buddy loaner setup (so my buddies could use it) until they could afford their own.

just link me to the non bias lab type review (for i can not find one - my google skill not cutting it when it comes to HOG objective reviews). me and my buddies are smart enough to decide for ourselves based on the hard numbers. subjective reviews is the blind leading the blind.

sorry if i offended anyone.
