TBD after I meet folks at DEMA.
I suspect that 2x1 was the design spec, and performance didn't measure up. They changed the oring as an easier solution than redesigning the poppet and balance chamber and only got around to changing the schematic later. Schematics are a low priority for many overseas OEMs.
When I was working with Deep6 on the re-release of their Excursion, we never did get some discrepancies cleared up, and I just overprinted the correct information on the graphics in the manual.

But a good oracle

They are small. I've never seen any fail. I have no idea what their size is, but I bet @rsingler or @cerich does. :D :D :D

hehe. Of course this thread brought me down a rabbit hole. I have almost every single o-ring size I need but this one escapes me. :-( They occasionally fail. Granted this was from a very abused reg.

Does anyone have a good source for these (besides the obvious solution of buying a service kit) in the US?

2.42 x 0.82 mm oring. D6 doesn’t have bulk orings. They come prepackaged in the rebuild kits.
Do you have a source for those O-rings?

Maybe @LandonL or @cerich can tell us that size?
The o-ring size was already mentioned above in post #3 by @rsingler so that's not any issue anymore. I was just commenting that do indeed occasionally fail based on your original post. :-) I thought I was going to get away with re-using them but oh well.

It's ultimately a non-issue in the grand scheme of things since they can be purchased as part of a service kit but I like to bulk source my o-rings and since this is a pretty unicorn size o-ring that I can't seem buy in bulk.

I just figured I would post here again in case someone found a common size that does work or if they knew of a reliable place to buy these in bulk.
