Some flavor of lithium has 'issues' if it gets wet.

Not the type used in batteries (and least not any I have!). This isn't metallic lithium..

I won't use remote ballast lights because you can't use e/o cords with them. I have 2 cannisters and 2 lightheads that I can mix and match if something breaks.

You can have remote ballast lights with e/o cords. I have them on my video lights. If you have the same light heads, it's not an issue (you do lose some flexibility with remote ballasts, but your statement was much too strong).

I have a 10w head and an 18w, the remote ballast won't play nice with that combo. Also, I imagine that it wouldn't be compatible with a suit heater.
