Today Parks Canada anounced that they have just discovered the wreck of HMS Investigator in the Artic Ocean. This is a British Navy Ship and Parks Canada archeologists want to lay claim to it (as I would to if I found it) and perserve it were it lies (maybe not so much with me). They have no intention of raising the wreck or it's artifacts nor will any civilian be allowed to dive on it. So I ask you out there in SB world, is this the right couse of action? What good would leaving her on the bottom of the Artic Ocean do? It will not prevent mother nature from doing her thing, it can only slow her down a little. Now this ship really belongs to the Brits and their Navy, so parks Canada should have no claim to her at all, and if there is going to be archeoloigy work done on it I think that the Brits should be paying the bills for it. But I beleive that becouse there is no actual treasure on her as is with HMS Victory they wont want anything to do with the wreck. So there we have it, the wreck will stay on the bottom, the brits should lay claim to it and keep Parks Canada off her, and she will remain there untill BP starts drilling up there and covers her in oil.
My rant for the day, ZDD
