While diving today one of the pins came undone and fell out of the fin resulting in the loss of pin and the black plastic that connects the spring.
I contacted Dive Rite who advised it would cost me $30-40.
I must say I've only ever received great service from DR over the years and am a little surprised at their response.
The fins cost me just under $200 and have been used twice. They are less than 7 days old. I would have thought that with the parts being so small could simply be put in an envelope.
I thought this would be a warranty issue. Perhaps I am being unreasonable in expecting them to send me the parts.
Guess I'll try to find a Japanese speaker who can contact the shop on my behalf. I was hoping contacting DR directly would be faster and easier. Guess not.
Advice to to anyone else buying these fins, check them for tightness before diving. It might be worth using loctite or similar to avoid the same problem.

I replied to DR Support seeking clarification on their stance and woke up today to find an email from the man himself Lamar. He said he would send out replacement pin etc. I was impressed that the boss was dealing with this. As has always been my experience, another example of great service from DR. Not quite sure why I got the initial response maybe something was lost in translation. Anyway, thank you Lamar, much appreciated.
