Quite right. I was looking at it some more. It doesn't represent traffic anyway. Only Captures, URL's and new URL's. I don't think the wayback machine automatically captures sites so in the past someone or something was telling that site to scan scubaboard. Could have been automation in vbulletin or a plugin, could have been a user that got banned or decided not to use the site for some other reason.

It is a pretty sudden and precipitous drop. It would be interesting to track month by month to see if it correlates to the Xenforo* conversion. Could it relate to a methodology change rather than human interaction?

* for other readers: vbulletin is the software that Scubaboard ran on and recently switched to Xenforo.

I'll offer a thought, but have no way to back it up.

Vbulletin was FAR more human. We could see who was logged on, who was logged on and viewing a thread, and we were able to send 'Friend' requests. I had fun collecting friends, some keep me honest, others are just, well, friendly. One of my very best friends on this board isn't a friend. That's too complicated to get into...

Anyway, now if I want to add a friend I have to set up the "If I follow you will you follow me and we can call it being friends" thing. I have to really want to add a friend to go through all that.

Xenforo was most effective in sterilizing the construct that prompted people to interact.
