Ladies grab your girlfriends, guys bring your wives, moms, sisters and daughters to celebrate the inaugural PADI Womens Dive Day on Saturday, July 18! Join the History of Diving Museum (HDM) and Coral Restoration Foundation (CRF), as we celebrate women pioneers in diving with a special two location Coral Restoration Dive with Islamorada Dive Center and a special guided tour through the History of Diving Museum highlighting womens contributions in diving history.
Our very own local Keys resident, active volunteer and board member to both HDM and CRF, Patti Gross, has written seven dive specialtys over her distinguished career as a dive professional including the PADI Distinctive Specialty Course, Coral Restoration Diver Series. We celebrate her enthusiasm to Saving the ocean one coral at a time.
The day starts off with an introduction to becoming a Coral Restoration Specialist. Join us as we head out with Islamorada Dive Center for a morning two location dive (check in 8:00 AM). Marvel at the underwater growth process during our first stop as we enjoy a CRF guided tour through a Coral Restoration Foundation nursery. Then youll have a chance to see first-hand how the coral plantings benefit the reef system as we explore a recent plantapalooza location on our second dive.
