I'll keep my eyes open for it. Can you give any more hints about what it might contain?

Steve,

Congratulations! I don't suppose you could videotape it and put just your segment online for the benefit of SB members who can't catch the History Channel?

Do you use a stock agency for your footage?

Steve - if you could tape it for us in any way and post it on the board that would be great. I would like to see the 14 second clip, if you dont mind.

I would sure be interested in seeing it! What a cool thing to have your video on national television! Congrats!

I will certainly tape it and see how to post for those who can't see the show. To answer some questions, I do not use any footage companies tho that is one way to go if you are looking to sell footage. I did sell about 20 secs to the Sea World company a couple of years ago to be used in their outdoor show down in Miami, and then they wanted the rights to use it at the other parks so I was able to make even more $. They got to me through a recommendation from a producer who knew me but was not an uw shooter. It is hard to sell things and not undercut yourself or others. I have been asked to sell footage but will not unless they meet the proper price. If you sell your footage for less just to get your name on a credit you undercut yourself and the entire community who are also trying to get the same things accomplished

For any who may be interested. I was surprised how good the show was, it was entitled MegaDisasters-Killer Asteroids. Basically it was about how the dinosaurs were wiped out by the hit of several asteroids millions of years ago. My footage was broken up and used here and there throughout certain segments of the show. Still don't know how they got the footage but they used some hammerhead shots, a large turtle shot, morays and a bunch of jacks all shot in the Cocos as well as some marine Iguana shot in the Galapogos. The history channel tends to repeat programs a lot so hopefully you will be able to catch it. It would be hard to post an hour show and taking the clips out individually would and posting them would be very out of context. They also added a orangish filter to some of the clips to give a 'burning' look. They didn't use my name in the credits but used my footage company name instead "Sharks Delight" and those credits went by so quickly I had to slow it down frame by frame. Oh well, at least it was something. Wish the check would get here soon. ;-)

Excellent, well done! Did you recognise your footage straight away or did you already know what they had purchased?

No, I had no idea what footage they had. I did recognize each shot however which was kind of interesting. Actually, the shots used were from some of my older stuff shot in the Galapogos and the Cocos. On one hammerhead shot they stuck a red matte with the opacity down to about 10% to give it a burning look. Found out that they got the footage from a show on another channel, TLC, I think, for a production they did on Vacation Videos a few years back.
Wish they would ask for some of my newer stuff.
