Im going to cross post this because I am not sure if my other one is getting traction where I posted it.

Is there any decent diving for a OW diver? The water seems crappy near shore every time I have been in the last 10 years. Just curious if I should lug my equipment down with me. I would be looking for something guided as I dont have a family or friend going who is certified and would want the DM or whoever in the group to be my buddy.

Not trying to crap on hilton head.

I guess the diving must be as bad as I thought.

I leave in 10 days for HHI. The lack of any responses is telling me I should leave my diving equipment home. Or maybe I just needed to bump this.

Any idea if the dive shops do dives in the Savannah area or if they go further south? I dont mind doing a day in Savannah but dont want to have to drive to Florida to dive.
call them and ask. please share their respond with everyone here

I went diving off the SC coast once. I knew I was on the wreck when I landed on it. Certainly did not see it before I landed on it!

Called a couple shops in Savannah. As I feared they all go south to dive. There are boat charters that go out a ways into the ocean where visibility improves but you need AOW(which I dont have yet) in order to do that. Looks like I am SOL for diving on this trip.

Thank you for the update on the Savannah LDS.
Perhaps this is a good opportunity to contact an LDS and get your AOW pool classes and written part out of the way ?
