Spectre:
There's an essay contest for high school students that would like to live in Aquarius [the Underwater habitat in the Florida Keys]. Entries are due on April 7th, and should start with "I want to live underwater for two weeks in Aquarius because..."

Details can be found here:

Wow! Very cool. I'll pass it along to Jesse (16) and loves to write essays!
He just maintained his B average so his car insurance gives him a $200.00 discount. Pretty good huh?

Spectre:
car insurance discounts for good grades? Never heard of such a thing. That's cool!

Yes,..well maybe back when you were a kid in the olden days.. they didn't think of it..cuz there were no cars then? Ha!

just checked you dont get to live there for two weeks, just a tour of the place about 60 min.

Right...:

GRAND PRIZE will be awarded that includes an all expense paid trip* to Key Largo for a personal tour inside Aquarius for the winning student, his/her sponsoring teacher, and parent(s). A SCUBA certification course will be provided in Key Largo to the winning family and teacher.** Upon successful completion of the course, the GRAND PRIZE winner, teacher, and parents will VISIT AQUARIUS – UNDERWATER!
Note: The GRAND PRIZE is a conventional SCUBA dive and not a saturation dive. You will not actually get to live inside Aquarius for two weeks (unless someday you become an Aquarius scientist!). Your visit to Aquarius includes a guided tour that will last approximately 60 minutes.

The bonus note is this:

*Limited to round trip coach airfare from U.S. location to Miami: transportation from Miami to Key Largo; hotel; and SCUBA certification class and equipment rentals (if not previously certified). Not included are food or any other incidentals. Trip to Key Largo must be claimed between June 1 and September 30, 2004.

Dude... who ever wins, if they arent certified, their teacher, or parents.. they get certified and get to visit Aqurius! Still a kickin prize!

Jesse is certified, and has dove at Haigh Quarry, St.Thomas, and Cozumel.

It is still a kickin prize.. I wonder what they're looking for in the winning essay..
