How much should one expect to pay for a high pressure seat for an Mares MR-12 when getting the reg serviced?

There are actually two parts that you can be referring to. One is the actual T-shaped HP poppet valve. The other is the removable volcano shaped HP seat. The HP "tri-material" poppet should be approximately $20, while the HP seat should be around $7 or so.

Thanks for the info. I just paid about 50 bucks for it as part of a servicing. But I live in Japan where customers are trained to grab their ankles when it comes to markups.

Here is about what I paid for a reg servicing;

MR12/Akros, Nikos octo, and gauge; labor: $75

Parts:

HP seat--$50
LP seat--$4
Filter--$8
Joint pin--$10

From the figures that you included, it appears as though the price of the rebuild kits may have been included under the HP seat. However, the filter comes in the first stage rebuild kit. The labor charge is pretty much standard, as many dealers charge $25 per stage.

I own two of the Mares MR12 Akros regs. They are one of my favorite models, and the ones I choose to use for my cave/technical diving.

Mares parts are expensive. The price you paid are not out of line with what I have to charge. We may not make a lot of money on our kits, but we will not lose money on them. You don't stay in business long if you lose money.

I apologize for their being so expensive, but if the manufacturer charges so much for them, what are you going to do?
