Recently, a story made the rounds about dolphins getting high from chewing on a puffer fish.
I wrote a blog post arguing that it is not very likely that the dolphins actually get high. In brief, I believe that human and dolphin brains are reasonably similar; and that the toxin (tetrodotoxin) numbs or paralyzes, but does not get people or dolphins high. Enjoy the read, I'd be curious for interesting feedback.
