Anyone else interested in Diving at Higgins Lake one of the last two weeks in June? I'm off school for a couple of weeks and my hubby and I are talking about camping at the state park up there.

If you're interested let me know! I look forward to meeting some of you and diving together!

Alanna

Hi Alanna,

There are a few of us around here that would consider coming up then.
Right now, I have the last Saturday June 25th open.

Also, a few of us are looking at May 21st for a trip there as well.

p.s. - another TC native, cherry farmer's son, transplanted to Flint.

Cool- at least I'm not the only native here and at least someone will know what I'm talking about when i talke about stuff around here.

I don't think I know anything about May 21st. SCUBA North is having their annual flea market that day. So what is the plan for the 21st???? I NEED TO DIVE!!!! I haven't been this year yet~although I'm tyring to get someone to go this weekend.

Not much of a plan yet for Sat May 21st.
My friend Ted (Gtxl1200 on scubaboard) suggested in an email to me that we go to Higgins Lake that day. Somone he knows will be doing their open water exam that day.

Best guess.... arrive around 10 - 10:30am. Couple of dives, lunch at the Silver Dollar.

Just keep an eye on these boards for dives being planned.
We GLWC people are a friendly lot and are trying hard to maintain our nitrogen levels. :D

Sounds like a plan. The timing sounds great too! I can be home by dinner to cook for the hubby and he'll be able to sleep during the day (he works nights). Although that IS SCUBA North's annual flea market.....

Been ages since I have been puddle stomping there. Let me know when you plan to go. I can't do May 21. I will be in Bethlehem, PA with my dive buddy trying out dry suits.

Not trying to jump here but I have been dying to get wet! No trip to Coz this year (new baby) so I have got an extreme itch to scratch. Are you going off of a boat? The only diving I have done in Higgins is off of the island, south side I think, where the boats hang out. I'm really interested in the 21st if it's cool. Let me know.

Thanks,
Ken

The more the merrier! I can TOTALLY understand that wanting to get wet thing. I'm trying to find someone to dive with after work tonight.

Ok guys, you'll laugh at this one. I had a total brain fart. I was thinking Burt Lake instead of Higgins Lake. I know where Higgins Lake is. I was just having a Navigational error in my head. I would still like to join your guys diving, I just might have to change my game plan on travel and lodging. lol @ myself.

I just stumbled over this site while searching for information on diving in Alabama. My brother lives a hop skip and a jump from Gulf Shores and we need to be down there for family business next week.

Any how, I was thrilled to come across Michigan divers! We live 10 minutes south of Higgins Lake. My husband and I are newly certified. Bob completed his check out dives at Gilboa in October and I finished mine at Vortex Springs in Florida in January.

Would love to meet local people. The weekend of June 24 we are scheduled to camp in the UP at Fayette State Park. Apparently there is diving in the little bay there off Lake Michigan. Looking forward to connecting with Michigan divers. Kathalina
