Nice find.

400w is way too much for diving, I would say - though perhaps not for the video camera inclined.A lower power version would be nice. I reckon it will be way too expensive for the first few years, but I would think it will filter down from the commercial and industrial sectors, and perhaps cars before they are put into action for general consumer (and diving) duty.

A 400w flash light, the size of a small Maglite would be AWESOME though...

Z..

I dunno ... a 400 watt 6degree beam might let you use this for signalling even in ultra clear tropical waters :)

No more night dives . . . :D

No electrodes!!! That's pretty slick- I think something like that with fiber optics would be great for houses- you could have one bulb (and a backup) and just pipe light throughout your house.

I wonder when the smaller hand-held versions will be out?

yup- your brand new light will be obsolete as soon as you can get on the internet to brag about it. :D

I am glad I paid only $250 for my canister light. I feel that this light thing is like computers. Last years top of the line is now selling at 1/3 the price. Hopefully, it will be that way with diving lights.
