good idea. Wetman, I never considered that halcyon wouldn't do the 18 as well, I've heard many complaints about the big box ballast at the back of the light, but they don't have the striking problem the old 10's did. Has anyone heard anything?

WW, I agree. On both accounts actually, the blinding and the brightest light possible. Now if I could only talk my wife into letting me get the 200w HMIs.

wetman once bubbled...
Do we know a new 18 is actually coming out? I'd be more interested in that - i've always hated the thought of the test-tube being exposed like that.

I heard it from a good source that they're "working on it". I was also advised not to wait for it.

I like the understated tone. Well I guess we could all see just how long we can hold our breath.

Thank you for your question.

While it is true that the team in the Halcyon "Skunkworks" Division
rarely sleeps; they are not working on a new design for the Halcyon 18W
HID. In the future, if technology and the means to make a significant
improvement are available, AND meet the stringent design requirements
for any Halcyon product, we may consider it.

I hope this answers your question.

So in other words, don't hold your breath.
