Hi All!

I am a new member to this forum from Delaware, and I am looking for Kauai diving suggestions. I am Padi Open Water certified, and I will be going to Kauai August 23rd - August 31st with my two friends. Any suggestions for places to dive and dive charters to use? Both friends will be doing Discover dives.

Thanks!
Heidi

Welcome aboard!!!!

When I travel, I always check out their local forum to get insider help and opinions.
Drop on down to here: Hawai'i 'Ohana

Dive on in and enjoy. :D

If you are get some more dives in before going there so that they will take you out to Niihau....well lets just say that I am looking forward to going back now that I am more experienced and can dive there. Sheraton Caverns is a GREAT dive if you like swimming with the Green Hawaiian Sea turtles.

Ni'ihau is Advanced diving. Vertical Awareness is 300' to the bottom and bluewater diving. It's not for newer divers regardless of what was posted above. Also an all-day trip.

Besides Sheraton Caverns - the signature Kauai dive - Fast Lanes or Brennecke's Ledge are good dives. I often recommend Seasport Divers. Fathom Five is another option.

I recommend Fathom Five. Seasport Divers works too. Have used them both.

I'm a big fan of Fathom Five, both for boat and shore dives.

You must be getting excited with vacation coming up so quick! Did you want to go from shore or the boat for your dives with your friends? The other factor will be were you are staying. I personally work for Seasport Divers on the south side but can guide you with whichever option you choose. I think you'll find that the island has fantastic options for dive companies with a lot of very professional and fun divemasters/staff.

Let me know if you have specific questions via a PM on here and I'll answer any questions you may have. I've been helping divers and guests to the island with dive and vacation plans for a number of years and would be happy to help you with suggestions in or out of the water.

Have a fantastic week and let me know if I can help with specifics
