Hi all,
Found Scubaboard while searching local dive sites and came across a new diver post with similar experience to my first Cozumel trip 5 years ago. Lost the thread but I too was fairly green with only about 20 dives under my belt, with a maximum depth of 60ft. My first Cozumel dive was Punta Sur to 125ft. I didn't suffer any problems but it scared the hell out of me since we went through Devil's Throat and Im a bit claustrophobic!
Newbs travelling to Cozumel be warned. The dive masters don't always check that everyone on board is experinced enough for the dive!

Anyway, that's behind me now with lots of Bahama's diving, including 2 Blackbeard's trips. Anyone in Tulsa area looking for a dive buddy in their 50's, contact me.

Welcome to ScubaBoard. . . It gets a lot of use here in Tulsa! You may already know there is a lot of dive travel from Tulsa, but we are close enough for a lot of good freshwater lake diving also. Tenkiller, Beaver and Ouachita are all good area diving spots. My most common spot is Tenkiller, if they'll just put more water in it, Spill way construction has left most boat ramps high and dry and blocked. When the water warms, we might be able to cross paths at Gene's.
