Ernie - I hope all is well and safe in Saudi. I've got friends arriving today from Dubai and while I know nothing is going on there, I'm looking forward to hearing what they have to say about the UAE viewpoint.

As for your mention of not diving if you're in Canada, I think this immediately qualifies you as a CAD. What do you reckon, mike, syruss, DG, et al? Ernie, if you're not sure what a CAD is, check out this thread!

The media is in business to sell the news just as the entertainment (?) industry is in business to sell movies etc. James '007' Bond kicks the mask off of a diver and the diver dies instantly.. We know the truth but would the public go to see the movie if they showed diving as it really is.. So much for the news media..

CAD? You betcha!! And proud of it.. LOL.. Sign me up... Water temp in the summer, 80 to 85 degrees F..

DiverDad,

Was that you I saw about 7 years ago down at the Gold Souk? And you forgot to mention the hands that they hung on the gate after a thief paid his "dues"...

Well, you certainly sound like a candidate for CAD International! We have members in Guam, GB and (even) Arizona, the All Beach No Ocean State! Believe it or not, there is even an Honorary Member in the land of Nanook of the North...she became a member when it was discovered that she used a dry suit while other Canucks were using wet suits!

Consider yourself sign, sealed and delivered...

Yep without a sizeable cash donation to the "Don't Vote Me A Cad" Fund it is pretty certain he will become an offical CAD devotee!

There is an appeal system.. If you cause the death of someone, either intentionally or by accident and if the deceased's family agrees, you can get off the block by paying about $25,000 "Blood Money" and all is forgiven.. If the nearest male relative is under 15 years old, you must stay in prison until he is 15 so he can then give you the "thumbs up or thumbs down"..

Sorry guys.. Didn't mean to get so far off topic here..

Ernie

Hey this is your thread so you can meander as needed! And it is interesting to hear how justice is around the world. I think if the family is okay with the person living and paying $25,000 that is an OK system by me!

I don't imagine there are nearly as many prisons there per capita as there are in the US.

Yo,
That could have been.. In July 2002, I will have been here 20 years and they still have money.
Don't knock Arizona.. A few more earthquakes in California and it will be known as the "All Beach, All Ocean State" and we will be taking boat trips to California Island.. (The Atlantis of the Pacific)

I promise to be a loyal and faithful CAD member and dive in water that is 70 degrees or higher. At work, I sometimes have to go to 175 feet in a dry suit and hard hat with surface supplied air and the temp gets down to 50 degrees. Can I get a waiver for that? Of course, that is not scuba so it should not count.. LOL..

Hi there DivingGal, Thanks for the welcome.. I have a good friend up in Ontario by the name of ScubaTrish. She is a regular visitor to my Forum. Wouldn't mind spending a S/I up there.. No diving though.. I am spoiled rotten by the warm water.. Skins in the summer, 3mm in the winter..
Have a nice day.. Ernie Spetter

What can I say Ernie? Skins, and 3mms? I don't think you'd last long in our warm waters --- of 70-something in the summer. But come anyway, and the "Ontario" contingent will treat you to a grand time.... just remember to bring your warm woolies.:D :D

Thank you sweetheart, if I get there, I'll be easy to recognise.. I'll be the one with 5 layers of clothing and chattering teeth.. And that will be in your summertime.. LOL
