I hope to be posting here alot more.

Greetings Staff Sergeant,
I might be hitting Oki in a couple of years (Marine Corps). How's the diving over there?

The diving here is incredable, there are all kinds of coral reefs, both soft and hard depending on the dive site. The vis is well over 100ft in most spots it and the water is warm about 76 to 78 at 50ft. There is alot of shore diving to do here but if you want to take a boat trip they have them every weekend from the Kadena Marina and if you can get four divers they will do one any time, a local trip is $45 and one to the Keramas is $70 and include 2 tanks. I will try and get some pics to post of the local area.

Hi,

My names Chris and I just left Oki last Oct. The diving there sure is sweet huh? Where do you work? I worked AWACS. Actually there arent too many caves there, but still great diving. Your on Goatdawgs .com allready right?

Welcome to scuba board, Sarg. I'm pretty new to diving, too, but what could be better than diving? Thank you for your service to the USA, and have a great time in the water. I envy you. Here in New England it's about 50 degrees in the water. :-(

Hey there, I wotk at the marina scuba locker and thought I would update your info.

The local trips are 50 to the pinnicle or runway lights area. If mark ( sea lady captain) is in a good mood he will do bolo for the same. The karamas are a min of 10 divers. any less and mark cant pay for the gas needed.
The U.S.S. emmons is an incredable dive. Some of us from the shop dove it last tue. and are going back this tue if the typhoon stays away. You can touch the wreck at 120 but the screws are at 150. its still in pretty good shape and well worth the 2 hour boat ride from the marina. That trip is a 12 diver min and its 85. we usually only do it once every few months or on an as needed bases. There are very few divable caves but alot of caverns and swim thru's dont mean to step on toes but wanted to get the facts out there.
