David,

Welcome to FLL. This is deffinately the place to be if you like diving of any kind, shore, boat, wreck, or reef. Hopefully we'll get the chance to meet one of these days. We've been doing a few night dives lately down near Mikes place. Maybe we can set something up for next week.

I'd like that a lot, Scott! Thanks.

Welcome to the board from Gozo, Malta. Happy Diving!

Mark: Kind of off the subject, but what's the diving like in Malta?

Come to think of it....where IS Malta? Isn't it below Italy? But I thought "Gozo" was a Spanish word for "joy."

Of yes, of course, welcome to the board, David and Diane. Sounds like you'll have much to add. Good for you for following your dreams!

Welcome to SB and to FLL David.

Florida Conch Divers is the local SB club for SE Florida Divers; our page is on the SB main page in the section entitled Scubaboard Clubs (between Scubadiving destinations and "what's going on").

We organize trips all the time and as Padipro said, we do all kinds of beach, boat, wreck and reef, and also drift dives. I know there's a night dive going on tomorrow night off Hibiscus Ave (Mike's place), which is 2 blocks south of the Commercial Blvd. Pier (now closed for repairs; YAY!!!!). jriderski (Joe) is organizing it, so give him a holler.

Hopefully we (my wife[scbababe] and I) will get a chance to meet, and dive with you and your wife soon!

Semper Safe,

Rick

From one recent Floridian to another. How do you like it so far? My hubby and I recently packed ourselves up and moved down here too. We should get together and trade stories sometime! Welcome to Floria and SB!

Thanks Rick. Yeah, I met Mike, Greg and his wife Joan a couple of days ago. Mike told me about the night dive, but we weren't able to make it. I was back at Hibiscus today and said hello to Joan. I saw a cuttlefish today. First I've seen anywhere. :D

I would really like to dive with you guys. I haven't found a job here yet, so I'm free to dive most anytime ;-)

I'd like that. My wife has some good ones. (She's the one "things always happen to") ;-)

We love it so far. Diving in California was an hour drive from home. We live four miles from the beach now.

Hey, L2GD, Malta is below Sicily, and Gozo is the sister Island as the Avatar on my thread shows. Check out our site at mobydivesgozo.com for small videos of our sites. As for the translation of Gozo, in Spanish, your right, it does mean joy. A couple of Maltese on holiday in Spain last year had a shock when they picked up a magazine called Gozo thinking it was some culture thing and found out it was a porno mag!
