Im Tom im 18 from the UK, I qualified as a Open Water Diver in March 2004. I did some dives throughout 2004 and used to attend my local club nights at the pool. But since then have had a years absense from the diving scene. Why? I have no idea it was stupid... I passed my driving test, got my car.. a mini woo and got a part time job and with everything going on in my life i just stopped going to the club nights and havnt dived since.

I cant believe how much i miss diving and i cant believe a whole year has passed since i got wet lol. It suddenly hit me when i pulled my dive bag out from under my bed and realised i need to get diving again i cant believe how long its been.

So when i get another job (hopefully in 2 weeks or so) after my exams im going to start again. Im thinking about doing a refresher course but this is about £80 and im sure if i just read through my padi book it will all come flooding back! (no pun intended lol).

Next on the agender re-join my club, see if my old dive buddys are still memembers and get it in action again!

Are there many teenage divers on the forum? I wouldnt mind chatting to some guys/girls my age as apose to all the 26+ diving peeps at my club :D

Happy Diving, Tom

I know, 26+ is so old. :banghead: Jeeze!

In general, you'll learn more from the older people you meet in life that you will the younger ones. As a teenage cowboy, I learned a lot from 50+ yo veterans who remembered solutions that weren't being taught any more. If you are lucky, you will dive with people who started before you were born; if you do, pay close attention.

welcome to the boards!! and yes there are "younger" people on this board, you'll have to check around with the different groups...
