Hi Everyone! I just got my open water certification in May, and I'm trying to get out diving more. I just went again this past weekend. I've been diving in Monterey and Pacific Grove so far. I grew up there, but I had no idea there were so many little dive sites right off my bike path. I'm slowly getting my own gear together. I'm looking for buddies who don't mind beginners. :)

Oh, you've become a diver in a wonderful place to be one! I love the diving in Monterey, especially off Lobos -- the incredible hydrocoral and corynactis anemones, painting the dramatic topography in brilliant colors, as this beautiful photograph by rlee shows:

There is quite a contingent of Monterey divers here on ScubaBoard, some of whom delight in showing new divers what the area has to offer. I'm sure you'll have no problem finding dive buddies!

Welcome to Scubaboard and the underwater world. As linked above make sure to check out our local NorCal section.

Living up North I tend to dive the North Coast more, but had a great day Sunday in Monterey :cool2:

Welcome!
