Schloot is the money that kids from Jersey steal from other kids at school.

Forget some countries, why is there a state in the US that only part of it changes to daylight savings time.

And, since we're at it...how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? I only remember the owl getting to two.

Becasue they aren't as cool as us? lol
It's because we started doing that durring the world wars to save on fuel and all that good stuff by setting a clock that allows maximum daylight hours. I think. Hmm...

Raven: 1,472!!! I even got a certificate. But then again I took every last piece of hard candy off that thing!! :D My tongue was in pretty bad shape in the end but it was worth it lol.

Hahahahaaa!!

I'm just a traaaaaansexxxxuall... TRANSYLVANIAN!!!"

Yeah check out the first scene after the wedding in front of the church. In the background you'll see a sign that says, " Denton, the town with a Heart"..or something like that. .

No way! We used to yell, "What the f*** is a sign doing in a cemetery!" You mean there actually was one there??

and Doctor Scott ( the proff in a wheelchair )

WHERE'S YOUR F***ING NECK?"

is a proff at my alma mater. University of North Texas( which used to be North Texas State Univ. back when the film was made)

No friggin' way... You mean that these people ACTUALLY EXISTED??

To this day I still have a "thing" for Janet-cram it. Mmmmm... Those eyes...

She's still hot, even if she is old now. :D

I heard they threw a dart at a map to choose the location..don't know if it's true or not. ..I loved The Great Santini.

Yeah, great movie...

Okay, if you like that, then how's this one? I've got further connections there.

My sister dates the nephew of the one-and-only Pat Conroy... The author of The Great Santini and The Lords of Discipline, amongst many others. I've sat at a local bar here and chatted with the author many times. I have a great deal of respect for him.

He was my mother's 9th grade English teacher.

The story, The Great Santini was written about one of my Father's wingmen (pilot stuff)... Who had a son around my age. The story was supposed to be a warning to my mother and my father's wingman's wife about what these men would become... Since Pat's father himself was a pilot and a lunatic. The oldest son in The Great Santini was supposed to be Pat himself... And what I would have become.

Fascinating, isn't it? Small world... :) I swear this is true.

In fact, before meeting and dating RavenC, I got "hooked up" by Uncle Pat's sister... To this girl that I wasn't real crazy about... We only went out a few times.

Glad I got ya, babe. ;)

Hey Paul...try this: say "Hee Haw" over and over.

I think it's funnier when you do it. :D

The setting is Denton but I'm sure alot of it was filmed in Hollywood or somewhere.

Dr. Scott is ficticious, but the University is real.

There is an old church oustide of Lewisville (about 10 or 15 miles from here) that looks alot like the one in the wedding. I'm not sure if it's the one in the movie or not, but they look an awful lot alike.

The sign, I'm sure was put up just for the movie, as I've never seen it around here.

They used to play that movie every Friday and Saturday nite at a theater here in town. That went on for years , but they eventually stopped. Too bad. It was a blast. A couple of times they had the stars from the movie at the theater to sign autographs and stuff.

Yeah, it's funny how these things are. It is a smaller world than it would seem. That's cool about the Santini connections...How random is that?

Why do they call that stuff in candy bars "nuget"...What's up with that?
