I just hate hearing about lost cameras, especially from new owners and/or newbies - and those are more prone.

Sealife Float Strap SL920 Discontinued?

But you can still find them all over google shopping by searching Sealife SL920 Float Strap - usually $20.

Maybe Sealife stopped carrying them on their site as their new cameras all float? My DC1200 does, but I still like the orange pad. I've done a few hundred dives without losing or flooding a camera so my time may well be up, and flooding one would be better than losing camera, housing and card entirely.

I did break the cord loose from one end of the strap easily but not likely you'd break both at once. I modified mine, pulling the cord loose completely, cutting slits by the reinforced places where they'd be attached, running the cord thru the slits and under the back loop before tying - and you have to be confident in your knots!

Just make sure your camera rig floats and is not dark colored so you can search the surface for it if you lose control.

For night dives, it might be good to attach one of these $10 Pelican flashers to the strap...
