Hey all! New diver here! Currently in the Florida Panhandle but very likely moving to the Southwest Ohio area. Just hit dive #40 last week working through a VA training program.

Curious if anyone here does volunteer diver work with either the Cincinnati Zoo or Newport Aquarium as I'm very interested in connecting with one or both to keep up my dive skills. Also, would love to eventually connect with Ohio divers to do quarries and eventually Lake Erie diving.

Welcome - Lots of good diving to be done up here if you do move up!
Good to know! I've been diving a 5mm wetsuit down here with bottom temps in the mid 60s. I am guessing I'll need to get drysuit certified and have my regulator sealed based on bottom temps at the quarries and the Great Lakes?

It all depends on your cold tolerance, and some of the quarries warm up more than others. There are certainly people who dive the shallower wrecks wet, but drysuits are common.
