i found you last night (you found me?) during another bout of insomnia. at least this one had value 
i first dove at 16, certified at 20, discovered i couldn't afford scuba and laid off for 15-plus years....several winters ago, having moved from my native california to cold, overcast virginia, i went crazy -- needed a vacation in the sun. or under it.
i recertified, dove like heck, and became an AI (not currently teaching/accidentally let insurance lapse. note to self: fix that).
my last trip was to fiji, and i'm dying to go back there or to other spots in the south pacific. and would love to find a dive buddy, F or M -- anyone interested??? although at age 41, i'm apparently outside the desired social demographic -- according to matchmaker trip proposed recs.
